Blankies

Do you know what makes me giddy and feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Blankies. I crocheted several blankets for my kids while I was pregnant with them. It absolutely rocks that they both LOVE their blankies! I think I need to capture some good blankie pics to add to this post.

I remeber when Ty first developed an attachment. It was quite a surprise. We had a blankie in his crib and one in the car because it was early spring and still chilli out. He was around 15 months old. We were having lunch with a neighbor and I was going to leave the blanket in the car like we always did. That was NOT ok with him! Just like that. Out of no where, they became buddies. It was difficult for me to let him do with his blanket as he wished. And he wished to pull at the yarn and have loops hanging off his blanket. But it's his, so I let him. And you know what? The loops were his favorite part! Too cute. He's three and a half now, and he still loves to have his blankie to cuddle at night or sometimes to watch tv. Makes me smile.

I wondered if Aubree would love her blankets as much as Ty did. It wasn't love at first sight, and I had to remember that it takes time for love to grow, as it did with Ty and his blankie. The love did grow, and it grew quickly. Aubree's blankie has fringe on two sides and those pieces of yarn, she can't live with out! She just started walking a few weeks ago and she's already lugging the huge thing around the house. It really is amazingly cute.
